It’s that time of year ya’ll! The holiday season is my ABSOLUTE favorite! The smell of homemade biscuits, stuffing & gravy, turkey roasting in the oven and the sweet aroma of pecan pie and so much more. To me the smell of Thanksgiving dinner cooking brings back so many childhood memories. One of my favorite things to do on Thanksgiving morning was to watch the Macy’s Day Parade with my sister and brothers. This is a family tradition we continue to do this day. I hope it will pass down to my grandchildren one day! Something so simple but so special. We don’t need fancy things or fine china at my house! Just give us the Macy’s Day Parade and some good food on a Thanksgiving themed paper plate! The south is just that simple! At our house Christmas comes as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is cleaned up! It’s tradition to throw the tree up and get the decorations out right away. We do not waste any time! If you have not visited the James Island County Park for the Holiday Festival Lights you have to go! It is a must! I promise after one visit this event will become part of your families holiday traditions. I will add a link with more information for the Holiday Festival Lights. I believe November 11th was the opening night. It does get super busy so don’t delay your visit. Lets all remember what we are thankful for as the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaches. I am very thankful for health, family and to live in such a beautiful city with so much to offer! – Tera
